I write rhymes
That tell stories of bare foot
Black babies searching for butterflies
Behind rainbows.

Greetings,
Welcome. I am Rava Shelyn Chapman. I belong to beautiful people, who are representations of the blending of native and African realities into spaces know as maroon. An Afro-Indigenous woman. There is an aspect of me that’s a descendant of Hagar. I am both lost and at home in the wilderness. I like to brew tea and play with words. I am a lover, artist, scholar, gardener, and a child of the earth.
